Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra Beach

Since you’re interested ...

We are delighted to know about your interest in our Club. Naturally, we
think Ponte Vedra Beach Rotary is well worth exploring. Since we take very
seriously the invitations we extend to candidates, we want you to know:

* Rotary is more than a civic organization. It is a commitment. We count on our
members investing their time, their talents and some of their treasure. Yet, it is a commitment
that our members delight in tackling, since they find it incredibly satisfying, rewarding and fun!

* We meet every Thursday morning for breakfast at Marsh Landing Country Club,
except for holidays, and require members to maintain at least a 50% attendance record. We
convene at 7:15 a.m. and adjourn faithfully at 8:30 a.m.

A tough requirement? Not really. Nearly 20% of our members maintain perfect 100%
attendance. You can get credit for meetings missed by participating in Club projects and
functions, or by attending another Rotary Club’s meeting -- not just throughout northeast
Florida, but literally throughout the world. Rotary now thrives in more than 200 countries.

* We perform community service projects during the year, and most members are
eager to pitch in. Our projects include: helping Beaches Habitat build homes, picking up trash
along Highway A1A, donating school supplies and clothing for BEAM, supporting our Ponte
Vedra Beach schools, and each year presenting “Local Heroes” awards to deserving residents.

* Membership represents about a $1,500 annual commitment. Dues are $190/
quarter and include weekly breakfasts. We also require members to support the one charitable
fund-raising event we host each February by purchasing 2 tickets themselves and selling 2
others -- a commitment that is likely to total $400 for the 2011-12 Club year.

* We host or support other social activities throughout the year, and expect members to attend.
Costs range from $10 to $45 per person.

As you become more familiar with Ponte Vedra Beach Rotary, you are likely to have additional questions. Your friend who introduced you to our Club is your best source for information. But we, too, stand ready to help you learn more. Our Club has served our community since June 1983 and is 100 members strong. That is a point of pride. However, it is the quality of members that make us most proud. Thank you for your interest.
